In this method, stabilization is done with the help of horizontal and inclined compression elements. The main difference between this method and nailing and anchoring is the lack of soil reinforcement, so this method can be used in projects where it is not possible to reinforce the soil for any reason (for example, lack of neighbors’ consent). In this method, first the vertical elements are implemented in the two desired walls. These vertical elements can be metal or concrete piles, shields or diaphragm walls. Then the horizontal elements connect them to each other and stabilize the walls. When building the structure from the bottom of the pit, the horizontal elements are gradually opened along with the rise. This method is suitable for pits with a small width.
